Had great fun playing with Bleepin J Squawkins again at Console on Friday night. A debut event for live electronica, I hope this concept picks up a bit of momentum in the coming months, cause gigs featuring live electronic music in Sydney are few and far between.

The Manning Bar has all the elements - quality sound system (foldback's another story), cheap drinks, and 2 huge video screens with a powerful projector. We got to test out our new lineup and vision mixer. Robbie did an impressive job on drums, despite having to rush on stage straight after another gig.

I'm finally inspired to work on my new stuff again.

Am really looking forward to launching Deprogram's new lineup this Friday 27 August at the Manning Bar, Sydney Uni. Robbie's joining us on live drums, laying down precise grooves with lots of feel, and much more flexible than the machines we're used to playing with.

Friday will launch the monthly live electronic night: CONSOLE

"CONSOLE is the new home for the legions of displaced, neglected and
misunderstood live electronic acts in Sydney. Like a mean vocoder? Got a

thing for vintage synths, blips, bleeps and machine music? Then
welcome, you are amongst friends now.

A free monthly event hosted at Manning Bar, Sydney Uni, CONSOLE will
showcase a mix of the best well-known and up and coming live PAs and
soundsystems, thumping out everything from electro, nu wave and synth
pop through to techno and ambient, and everything in between.

CONSOLE will be launched THIS Friday night the 27th of August, starting
at 7 pm, and going through to 11 pm.

+++++++++++++++++++++

For the launch of CONSOLE we have captured the electro-funk of:

Bleepin J. Squawkins [Clan Analogue]
- Album 'Floppy Disco' out now thru Creative Vibes. They are so hot
right
now....

Deprogram [Clan Analogue]
- devestating live electro with rocking vocals and live drums.

Senator J1m [of Phonku:bot fame]
- Tune into 'Cathode' on 2SER to hear more of the senator's antics.
- Straight up gameboy electrofunk biz.

Tao City Sounds

bleepy synthpop with twists of funk and ambient tones. Backing up all
the
machinery will be DJ Defcon1 pushing the electrobass sounds of old and

Huge round of applause for Frenzal Rhomb, who recently stuck it to Austereo, stood up for original Australian artists everywhere, and basically turned the tables on corporate radio and the mainstream music industry. It's a long story, so here's the transcript of the on air interview:
