I've finally gotten back into a work routine since the European trip. At first I was buzzing with ideas and could barely get any music done. Now I'm a bit more disciplined, sitting and working on tracks till inspiration strikes. We're adding a few more parts to the album to flesh out some of the arrangements. I've also started writing material for a live album I've been planning. My time away has luckily given me a fresh perspective on the work I've been immersed in for so many years.

To help me organise my thoughts, I found a cool new app that helps capture ideas quickly and brainstorm with friends called Wridea. Hopefully it will give me a place to park my ideas so I don't lose focus all the time.

Countless hours this week were spent composing with the incredible open source Bristol synths, software versions of vintage synths like the Moog, Prophet and Juno. For a person who has been trying to cut her visits to music technology stores, this package of virtual synthesisers has been a godsend. Although it hasn't cured my desire for a new microphone...
