I'm in the middle of doing another Sharcactus remix, as well as starting tracks for the next album. I know, I know - finish the current one first! I just have so many ideas for an improvised, live recording, and I'd like to start creating the beds for that. Besides, I love the fresh inspiration and enthusiasm that comes with a new work. It's nothing like the maddening frustration that accompanies completion.
I made a scary realisation the other day. I started working under the name of Deprogram in 1997. I can't believe I've been doing this for 10 years. When the project began, I had totally different expectations to now. I wanted to sell lots of records and be widely recognised for what I do. The results have been more humble, but I'm getting there. Now I consider success to be reflected in my persistence. I've managed to tour overseas, create music that expresses my individuality, and work on my art every day. What more can I ask for?
Well, I wouldn't mind having music as my primary source of income. That hasn't happened yet, but when it does I'll be screaming from the rooftops!
