Deprogram is composer and electronic music producer, Mary Mainsbridge. Joined on stage by producer, programmer and producer, Nick Mainsbridge; drummer, Robbie Mudrazija; bassist, Meeghan Oliver and video artist, J D Young, the audiovisual act create improvised soundscapes and interactive projections to dense textures and intricate rhythms. Deprogram has performed locally and internationally at clubs and festivals including Bleepfest (UK), BZoom (Czech Republic), Electrofringe, Vivid Sydney and Soma Sonic.
Deprogram uses customised open source software and DIY controllers in composition and performance. Looking beyond commercial hardware to find more depth of expression, Deprogram has devised a program called Smokescreen that uses body movements to visualise sounds and novel gestural systems including Gestate and the Telechord to synthesise sound.
